Established in 1992, Japanese Travel Industry Association (JTIA) is a non-profit organization composed of companies
related to the Japanese inbound travel industry - travel agencies, receptive operators, hotels, airlines, bus operators,
and gift shops. Currently there are 25 companies in its membership, which is more than 90% of all Japanese travel
related companies in New York City. In 2019, our member companies served approximately 330,000 Japanese travelers
visiting the Big Apple.
JTIA's objective is to publicize a safe and friendly New York City to the Japanese tour and travel market in order to
increase the number of Japanese tourist to the city.
To this end, the association has been holding bi-monthly meetings and social events to better network our member companies. JTIA publishes a comprehensive Midtown Manhattan Map in Japanese, updated once a year.
It has also worked with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey on Improving the level of services at the New York airports.
